The exhibition has been awarded a prize by The Danish Arts Foundation”We are both deeply fascinated by houses. The house is the framework around life, but also a picture of the life, which takes place inside it.”That’s how Randi & Katrine describe their giant sculptures in the exhibition, which focuses on the dual role of the house as space and picture. Randi & Katrine belong among the most sensational young, Danish artists right now. Recently they have made their mark nationally and internationally with their romanticinstallations and sculptures, which often show as small, scenic stories. This solo exhibition at GL STRAND presents two giant sculptures. The sculptures have both shape as a house and a face. With the exhibition the artists strike up a poetic reflection on the dual role of the house as both space and picture. The past influences the present in the work of Randi & Katrine. In the giant sculptures at GL STRAND it is the carnival and the mask, which the artists have used to create the experience of an in and an out in the two works. Windows and doors turn into eyes, ears and mouth in the two sculptures, which are made into living faces by mechanic windows, which open and close on it’s own. Inside the two houses the light shines and creates the idea of an inner life. Together with the exhibition follows a richly illustrated catalogue with an essay written by the headmaster of The Royal Danish Art Academy Mikkel Bogh and a interview with the two artists.

This gigantic book provides a survey of Ransve's impressive painterly oeuvre. The accompanying text investigates the changing and recurrent groups of motifs and places the works in their art historical context. Since each page of the book has been designed individually in close collaboration between Ransve and the graphic artist and book designer Silke Nalbach, Bjørn Ransve's development as an artist can be traced in a way that is particularly illuminating. His work ranges from hard edge constuctivism to figurative painting.
