There are also a number of paintings of the French, Italian and German schools, the most interesting of the last mentioned being a painting by Lucas Cranach the Elder, “Christ in Limbo”, which is an excellent example of the artist’s style during his years in Wittenberg in the 1520s. It includes more than 400 works of art the by a wide selection of artists, each represented by one or two typical works.
