Kjellberg, Director of Sweden's Göteborgs Historiska Museum (now called the Göteborgs Stadsmuseum), and his assistant, Olof Hasslöf, traveled through the islands of the Outer Hebrides, off the west coast of Scotland, in order to research the area's rich maritime culture.
