This book presents a bouquet of words and pictures, a colorful ensemble, related to the life and career of Karen Blixen (1885-1962), writer of OUT OF AFRICA and BABETTE’S FEAST. When she set up the Rungstedlund Foundation she directed the main building to be used for cultural purposes and the land as a bird sanctuary. The board of the foundation has opened the Rungstedlund house as a museum where people from all over the world can come to visit. The museum tells the story of a story-teller representing one of the greatest Danish literary achievements of the 20th century. The specific environment, both indoors and outdoors, provided the sounding board for her authorship and the museum offers a fresh perspective to her work.
