Pekka Jylhä is a sculptor who was born in Toholampi Finland. He was educated at The University of Art and Design, Helsinki from 1980-85, The Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki from 1984-87, and the Royal Arts Academy, Stockholm from 1987-88. He is one of Finlands most significant sculptors known for his experimental use of materials. “...Jylhä’s art finally adopted a stance in which sculptural art was primarily the contemplation and condensation of a theme, idea, symbol or metaphor, followed by the visual expression of that condensation using most appropriate materials and visual motifs”- Pessi Rautio. His imagination leads him to a mix of media and ideas which creates true, remarkable works of art.
