Friberg (b.1920) has been a prominent figure on the Skåne architectural scene ever since the 1950s. For many years he was professor and teacher of Landscape Planning at Alnarp, part of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, and his listed output includes more than 700 headings, which says something about his popularity. His assignments have covered a wide gamut, from big landscaping projects, housing developments, residential gardens , cemeteries and weekend cottages right down to power transmission pylons. In his best works he creates architecture of unquestionable greatness, with the grand gesture and the accentuated interplay of nature and artefact as his distinguishing characteristics. Plans and elevations are included.
