This collection of drawings by German Old Masters is known by connoisseurs as a small, but rare and beautiful one. Until now, it has not has been made public in its entire range. Spanning the period between the soft, elegant Late Gothic style of the 1420s to the powerful, expressive followers of Dürer and Altdorfer of the 1530s, a wide range of fine and rare master drawings are preserved here. Martin Schongauer, Hans Holbein the Elder, Hans Baldung Grien, Albrecht and Erhard Altdorfer, as well as Wolf Huber are among the artists whose work was exemplary of the high tide of German art.
