La Grande Arche crowns the historic axis of Paris, as if La Defense were its prow. One could sense even in the first draughts that Jonathan Otto von Spreckelsen, a barely known Danish architect, had by sheer force and purity conceived an exceptional gesture. We feel today that the monument will remain in history, after having marked the second French Revolution centenary. This is somewhat similar to the manner in which Gustave Eiffel’s work had illustrated in the first centenary. This book examines La Grande Arche with full page color photos and wonderful descriptions.

An insightful guide into the unique architectural heritage and cultural history of Vyborg, a historic town situated close to the border between Russia and Finland on the Baltic Sea. Attractions include one of the few medieval castles of north-eastern Europe as well as the world-famous Functionalist municipal library designed by the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. This book surpasses the conventional travel guide, as it explores the interplay between architecture and the town’s dramatic history, which is intimately connected with that of Finland and Sweden.

This project is about the Eastern Cemetery at Malmö, about art and architecture and maybe it touches values that really unite or separate man and nature. The exhibition took place at the Eastern Cemetery in Malmö, Sweden, one of the main works of the famous Swsedish arcitect Sigurd Lewerentz (1884-1975). Several artists/ architects were invited to make installations at the cemetery, as an hommage to Lewerentz. These were Antony Gormley (GB), Elle Klarskow Jørgensen (DK), Truls Melin (S), Rikke Ravn Sørensen (DK), Anders Munch (DK), and Peter Märkl (CH). This project is a part of the cultural exchange program: Kulturbo 2002. Some plans and elevations are included.
